Peter H. Stasiak

Cropseyville – Peter H. Stasiak, 88, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010. He had resided on Bulson Road in Cropseyville, NY, and was the husband of the late Catherine (Wagar) Stasiak who passed in 2004.
Born on June 6, 1922, in Cropseyville, Peter was the son of the late Paul and Aleksandra Stasiak. He graduated from Troy High and was a veteran of the United States Navy. While serving in the Navy Peter flew on PBY airplanes as a gunner. He was employed at the Ludlow Valve Company in Watervliet, NY, and later at the Watervliet Arsenal from where he retired in 1984. Peter enjoyed time he spent hunting and fishing at his camp in Putnam Station, NY; he was also a Yankee fan. He most enjoyed the time spent at his home in Cropseyville, which he built himself.
Survivors include his daughters, Christina Stowell of Grafton, NY, and Sandra Luke and husband Steve of Hoosick Falls, NY, his son, Kip Stasiak of Cropseyville, his sisters, Helen Snyder and Madeline Kowalchyk both of Brunswick, NY, his grandchildren, Stacey Stowell, Roy (Buddy) Stowell, Laurie Gosse, Peter Stasiak and Brian Luke. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Peter is pre-deceased by three sisters, Anna Krause, Johanna (Mary) Russell and Evelyn Chwalek, and three brothers, Metro (Matt), Stephen and John Stasiak.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090. Memorial contributions may be made to either Brunswick Fire Department or the Grafton Rescue Squad through the funeral home.
