The University at Albany has recognized Jiwon Go of Petersburgh, a student at Catholic Central High School, as one of its 2010 Multicultural High School Achievers.
The University is recognizing 177 outstanding high school seniors from the greater Capital District and beyond as recipients of the Awards.
Selected for exemplary academic performance and leadership in their schools and communities, the award winners are being honored at a special event on Saturday, October 2. They will take part in campus tours and information sessions. The awards ceremony will begin at 11:30 am in Lecture Center 18 on UAlbany’s main campus at 1400 Washington Ave. in Albany.
Now in its 23rd year, the recognition program is designed to honor outstanding students and encourage them to continue their leadership development in college. To date the program has recognized 4,200 students of color.
One of the UAlbany’s distinctive strengths is its diversity. Students come from more than 90 different nations and a wide range of political, religious and cultural backgrounds.
