Ralph Griswold

Hoosick – Ralph BeForest “Bus” Griswold, 89, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center. He had resided on Cipperly Road in Hoosick, NY, with his wife Vera (Cipperly) Griswold.
Born on February 5, 1921, in North Chatham, NY, Ralph was the son of the late Ralph J. and Analda (Fournier) Griswold. He graduated from Hoosick Falls High School class of 1939. Ralph worked as a farm machine mechanic at Bennington Farm Equipment, then Capital Tractor and later at Haynes Ford in Hoosick Falls, NY. He was a member of the Hoosick Fire Department and the Hoosick Grange. Ralph enjoyed collecting toy farm equipment.
Survivors, other than his wife Vera, include his daughter, Kathy Bailey and husband Russ of Amenia, NY, his sons, Donn Griswold and wife Donna of Arlington, VT, and Jerry Griswold and wife Geri of Bennington, VT, his sisters, Winnie Ferguson of LaPorte, PA, and Patricia Heise of Colchester, VT, his brother, Rudy Griswold of Anthony, NM, his grandchildren, Christina Wortman and husband Kevin of Rutland, VT, Melanie Muniz (Mac) of Bennington, Jocelyn Hawley, Britni and Dillon Hawley all of Arlington, Delaney Bailey of Amenia, Wes Dewey of St. Petersburg, FL, and his great-grandchildren, Brandon Wortman, Keegan Pierce of Arlington and Adrianna Dewey of Bennington. Ralph is pre-deceased by a grandchild, Kelsea Hawley, a sister, Beverly Slocum, and a brother, Earl Griswold.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, October 16, at 1 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There were no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad or the Ronald McDonald House in Albany, NY, through the funeral home.
