Grafton Lakes State Park will be holding its third Annual Trick or Treat Nature Trail on Saturday, October 30, from 5 to 7 pm. Kids can go on a fun adventure on the trail, challenge their senses with some nature mysteries and, by trail’s end, find some treats. The trail departs from Shaver Nature Center, 194 Shaver Pond Road in Grafton.
The first hour will be in daylight so younger children (4-8) are encouraged to come with their families during that time. After dark, the trail will be illuminated by jack-o-lanterns carved by local community members and girl scouts. Bear in mind that the trail is meant to be a fun adventure in the woods and although a little creepy, it largely caters to children 12 and under.
Craft activities, face painting and hot cider will also be offered to participants. The event costs $3 per person. Please pre-register as space is limited.
To register, or for more information, please call the Park Naturalist at 279-1155.
