Cora E. Green

North Hoosick – Cora E. Green, 86, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, surrounded by her family, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. She had resided on Baby Lane in North Hoosick, NY, and was the wife of the late Joseph Green, who died in 1979.
Born on December 4, 1923, in Ludlow, VT, Cora was the daughter of the late Frank and Cora May (Graves) King. Cora attended schools in Ludlow and was a homemaker all of her life. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, word search books, puzzles, her dog “buttercup” and, most of all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Brenda Young and husband Joe and Charles Green all of North Hoosick, Betty Reynolds and husband Hebert of Pownal, VT, Katherine Telford and Cora Grover and husband Larry all of Cambridge, NY, Barbara Hayes of Alaska, and Joseph Green Jr. of Florida. She is also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren, sixty-two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Cora is pre-deceased by her parents and husband as well as by two sons, Robert Green Sr. and Hiram Green, a sister, Edna Nichols, and two brothers, Frank “Skinner” King and Ferris King.
Funeral services and calling hours will be private. Burial will be at the Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge, NY. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad or the American Diabetes Foundation through the funeral home.
