The Grafton Historical Society’s November meeting will be held at the Grafton Town Hall on November 17 at 7 pm.
The speaker will be John Callaghan. His subject will be the Day Peckinpaugh, the first cargo motorship of its kind that navigated the open waters of the Great Lakes as well as the Barge Canal. A brief history will be followed by how the vessel came to the collection of the New York State Museum and the progress in its restoration. He will give a PowerPoint® presentation with pictures of the vessel at different stages of the restoration as well as images from a two month tour taken in 2009.
