Hoosick Planning Board Action – Hoosick To Get A Subway

On Monday evening, November 15, the Hoosick Planning Board saw no environmental impact in allowing a Subway Shop to open in the former car wash building next to the Sunoco station on Route 7. A site plan review had previously been approved. Property owner Sheila Duncan said she is hoping the new Subway will be open before Christmas.
Bayer Road
Brian Boll appeared again before the Planning Board regarding boundary changes he wants to make to his property on Bayer Road. The large file on the subdivision in which he lives had been studied, and he was informed that because of subdivision deed restrictions in place, his request must be treated as a modification to the whole subdivision. To make the changes he wants, he must come to the Board with affidavits from all his neighbors approving those changes. It was noted that restriction changes to the subdivision have been approved in the past.
Buskirk
A study of the file of the property of Tim and Betty Colaneri on West Hoosick County Rt. 103 in Buskirk found nothing to prohibit the couple from converting their property to a simple subdivision. They were not at the meeting but are expected to attend in December.
Ball Street Extension
Edward Powers requested Board approval for a simple waiver regarding lots on his property that have portions separated by Wood Brook and a road. Planning Board Attorney Dennis King said the Board could not waive the lots. Powers filled out the form for a simple subdivision and submitted it to the Board. He will return in December for a site plan review.
Dog Kennel
The Board reviewed a proposal sent to them by the Zoning Board for a 7,000 square foot Day Care and Boarding Kennel for 35 dogs. The building, with exam and grooming rooms, will be owned by Tracy Muscatello and located at 2075 West Hoosick Road in Buskirk. The Board had questions regarding the building setbacks and buffering. Board Chairman Jim Dunigan said he will call Zoning Board Chairman Jim Hoag regarding the Planning Board’s concerns. A clarification of these concerns will smooth the way when the proposal later comes before that Board. The Zoning Board will hold a Public Hearing on Muscatello’s request on December 6 at 7 pm.
