Jack C. Felter

New Lebanon – Jack C. Felter, 73, of Route 22, New Lebanon, NY, died on Saturday morning, October 30, 2010, at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA.
Born May 27, 1937, in Gloversville, NY, he was the son of the late George F. and Kathryn E. Wentworth Felter. He was the loving husband of Barbara Maxwell Felter, whom he married on June 28, 1958, at the Second Congregational Church in Pittsfield.
Jack was a 1955 graduate of Pittsfield High School and enrolled in the apprentice program at General Electric in Pittsfield. He worked there for over 35 years retiring in 1992 as a foreman in the Ordnance Systems. He then worked for Lebanon Valley Landscaping and at the time of his death was employed by Valley Equipment of Schenectady, NY. Jack was also co-owner of the In Between Shop in New Lebanon with his daughter. He was a member of the Lebanon Valley Protective Association, where he had served as Chaplain, and he was a member of both the Lebanon Valley and Stephentown Seniors. He enjoyed antiques and attending auctions.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara, his children, Deborah J. and husband Jeffrey Potter of New Lebanon, Tammy L. and husband David Brown of West Sand Lake, NY, Stephen D. Felter and wife Dawn of New Lebanon and Michael B. Felter of Adams, MA, his cherished grandchildren, Jeremiah and Stefani Brown, Courtney Potter, Austin and Marissa Felter and Kendalle Felter. He is pre-deceased by a sister, Sandra K. Molleur.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 3, at noon in the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown, NY, where Rev. John Cunningham officiated. Cremation will follow.
Relatives and friends were invited to the funeral home for visitation on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm and on Wednesday morning from 11 am until the start of the service.
Jack’s family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Emanuel Community Church in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 9, Stephentown, NY, 12168.
