Joan A. Hand

Summerfield – Joan A. Fagan Hand, 75, died on October 30, 2010, in Florida. Born in New Rochelle on November 20, 1934, to Thomas and Mary Monahan Fagan, she was the loving wife of William N. Hand, who survives. She retired as a Teacher’s Assistant for the Westchester BOCES in 1994.
Survivors, besides her husband, include her children, Patricia M. Fendorak of Clifton Park, NY, William R. and wife Valerie Hand of Beverly Hills, FL, Raymond B. and wife Tracey Hand of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Barbara E. and husband Steven Tonnesen of Hopewell Jct., NY, a sister, Carol A. Stark of Ocala, FL, grandchildren, Richard and Lauren Fendorak, Eddie and Nicholas Hand, Jennifer and Jason Hand and Stephanie, Kaitlyn and Tara Tonnesen. She is pre-deceased by her sisters, Mary Gates and Helen Wagenstein.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 13, at 1 pm in the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown, NY. Inurnment will follow in the Cemetery of the Evergreens. Calling hours at the funeral home are on Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
