Kathryn E. Roberts

Stephentown – Kathryn E. Chamberlin Roberts, 80, of Route 43, Stephentown, NY, died on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at the Albany Medical Center.
Born on November 9, 1930, in West Sand Lake, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Elizabeth Loesch Chamberlin. She was the loving wife of Arthur W. Roberts, whom she married on November 5, 1949, in Stephentown.
Mrs. Roberts attended Averill Park schools. After raising her children, she worked as a lab technician for Teledyne-Gurley in Troy, NY, for over 34 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the New Hope for Life Ministries in Nassau, NY, and attended the Stephentown Center Baptist Church. Kay loved to food shop and pick berries and nuts and could be seen on the local roadsides picking elderberries.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Arthur, her children, A. Wayne and wife Nancy Roberts of Avondale, AZ, and Linda A. Lorenzini and Stephen Mumford of Newton, NJ, her former son-in-law, Robert C. Lorenzini of Stephentown, her grandchildren, Stacy Lee LaRue and William J. Paige, her great-grandson, Brian Paige, her siblings, Theodore J. Chamberlin and his late wife Elizabeth of East Greenbush, NY, Howard P. Chamberlin and his late wife Shirley of West Sand Lake and Doris H. and her late husband Bernard Zipkin of Averill Park, NY, along with many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by siblings, Ellis Jr., Donald, Robert and Arthur Chamberlin.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown on Friday, November 26, from 11 am until 1 pm for visitation. At 1 pm on Friday, Rev. Trygve Tomlinson of the West Stephentown Baptist Church and Pastor David Shaut of the New Hope for Life Ministries will “Celebrate the Life of Kathryn E. Roberts.” The family request that memorial contributions to a charity of one’s choice be given in lieu of flowers.
