Michael S. McDonough

Hoosick Falls – Michael S. “Dougal” McDonough, 53, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010, at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bennington, VT, after a long battle with colon cancer. He resided on Willow Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, with his wife Susan (Burch) McDonough.
Born on March 6, 1957, in Bennington, Mike was the son of the late John and Helen (Sukuskas) McDonough. He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls, Class of 1975. Mike worked at Oak-Mitsui in Hoosick Falls until it closed. He spent a lot of his time at the Beck Farm helping with chores and raising cattle. Mike enjoyed “guarding the lake” at the family camp at Lake Lauderdale, NY.
Survivors, other than his wife Susan, include his sons, Peter and John “Jake” McDonough both of Hoosick Falls, his sister, Sharon Weeden and husband Charlie of Johnsonville, NY, and his brother-in-law, Tim Burch and wife Patty of Albany, NY, as well as four nieces and a nephew.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Karen McGovern Memorial Fund or the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, in Hoosick Falls, who are handling the arrangements.
