Morton F. Hoffman

Hoosick – Morton F. “Mike” Hoffman, 86, former resident of Tate Road in Hoosick, NY, died on Sunday evening, October 31, 2010, at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center. He had resided at The Maples on Gage Street in Bennington, VT, for ten years.
Born in Cambridge, NY, on July 11, 1924, he was the son of the late Laurides and Justy West Hoffman. He was the loving husband of the late Martha Von Haggin Hoffman, who died on February 5, 1996. They were married on December 1, 1946.
A 1941 graduate of Hoosick Falls High School, Mr. Hoffman worked on the family farm for many years. He was also employed by the Hoosick Falls Central School District as a bus driver, retiring in 1989. Mr. Hoffman was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and, in his younger years, loved to bow. He was a very active sportsman.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen Gatus of Lake Placid, NY, a grandson, Michael and his wife Jessica Gatus, and great-grandchildren, Austin and Logan Gatus of Hoosick Falls, NY. He is pre-deceased by a sister, Irene Marker.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Robson-Reinfurt Funeral Home, 72 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, on Thursday from 5 to 7 pm for visitation. At 7 pm a prayer service will take place. Following cremation, Mr. Hoffman will be buried with his late wife in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
