Thanksgiving Together Dinner

November 24, 2010 By eastwickpress

by Bea Peterson
For almost 20 years the First Baptist Church in Hoosick Falls has hosted a Thanksgiving Together Dinner the Sunday before the holiday. The public is invited to join the celebration at no cost as all the food is donated. This year was no exception. Close to 100 people were welcomed by Peter Cottrell. Rev. Dr. Thomas Azar offered the blessing and everyone enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner. The program also included a reading of Psalm 100, the singing of “We Gather Together” and “Count Your Many Blessings,” and a Thanksgiving poem read by Kate Cottrell. Kate, a member of the Church Sunday School, and Boy Scouts and Leaders from Troop 65 served the meal. It was a heartwarming and enjoyable gathering.
