HF Junior Girl Scouts’ Christmas Cookie Exchange

December 23, 2010 By eastwickpress

Junior Girl Scout Troop 1104’s First Annual Christmas Cookie Exchange took place Wednesday evening, December 15, at the Immaculate Conception Church’s St. Joseph’s Room during their holiday party.
After their opening Pledge of Allegiance and Girl Scout Promise the scouts settled down to the movie, “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas,” nibbled popcorn, played games, made handmade holiday cards and personalized name signs.
The cookie exchange gave the girls the opportunity to plan their treat, help out in preparing ingredients, follow a recipe and bake and then share their treats with their friends. It also provided them with the opportunity to try 16 different types of cookies that they may have never seen or tasted before. Not only did it provide the girls with a learning experience, but it also encouraged individuality and pride in their finished product.
Special thanks to Mrs. Heidi Taylor, Troop Snack Mom, for orchestrating our successful Christmas Cookie Exchange.
