Lebanon Valley Farmers Market Bizarre Bazaar

December 3, 2010 By eastwickpress

Throughout this past summer the Midtown Mall in New Lebanon was the site of an amazing success. What was this success? The Lebanon Valley Farmers Market that took place every Sunday from 10 am until 2 pm.
In response to the tremendous outpouring of interest from customers and vendors alike, maybe because we all miss the warmth and sunshine of summer a little, too, the First Annual Holiday Bizarre Bazaar will take place on Sunday, December 12, from 10 am until 2 pm. This event/market is primarily an indoor event though there may be some overflow into the “Green” if there is enough of the right kind of snow to build snowmen, make snow angels or sip piping hot, wonderful locally roasted coffee.
The Holiday Bazaar is a producers only market. The vendors who participate are folks who have made their crafts themselves or raised their produce, chickens or beef themselves or have baked the breads and sweets, etc. These folks are local. They are from within the Lebanon Valley or the Taconic Hills and even the western most part of the Berkshires, and are all part of the same community.
Come on out to purchase foods, treats, toys, jewelry and more all from friends and neighbors whom you may know already or of whom you have heard. Not only is this a market but also a community-building event.
Some of the items you can get at the market are handmade wooden toys, grass fed beef, free range chickens’ eggs, fresh-canned tomatoes and sauces, Christmas tree decorations, breads and sweets, hand made pottery, sheep’s milk cheeses, goats’ milk soaps, candles, honey, freshly roasted coffees and new teas, not to mention the beautiful and tasty herb infused oils for dipping those great breads in . . . and you can visit Duncan’s Wine shop to get just the right vintage to pair with your grass-fed beef or fresh tomato sauce or cheese.
Our special guest, on loan from the North Pole and performing live at this venue for the first time, is that great Dynamic Duo (not Batman and Robin, folks), Santa and Mrs. Claus. Come on down and bring your cameras; this may be your only opportunity to see them in the flesh in such an intimate, unplugged version of their greatest hits.
Come one, come all to the First Annual Holiday Bizarre Bazaar at the Midtown Mall in New Lebanon. For more information please visit the Grow the Valley website or contact The Lebanon Valley Business Association at flally@rasenna.us or Morgan Hartman at blackqueenangus@yahoo.com.
