Extra Helpings For Stephentown

The ordering date for February bundles from the Extra Helpings Community Food Buying Club in Stephentown is Thursday, January 27, from 3:30 to 6 pm at the Stephentown Federated Church on Garfield Road. The Extra Helpings program is part of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.  It allows anyone to buy nutritious food at lower than retail prices. There are no limits on age, income, number of bundles or geography, so all smart shoppers are welcome and encouraged to participate.
The February choices which can be ordered then are the $21 basic bundle –  1.5 lb. pkg. bacon-wrapped pork medallions, 3 lb. bag I.Q.F. boneless chicken breasts, 1 lb. pkg. sweet Italian sausage links, 1 lb. pkg. hamburger, 1 bag seedless red grapes and 1 bag wrapped iceless broccoli.
Special #1 at $13.50 is a 5 lb. block of sliced American cheese.
Special #2 at $15.50 is 18 oz. stuffed shells, 12 oz. sun dried tomato stuffed rigatoni, 12 oz. spinach stuffed rigatoni, 13 oz. large round ravioli, 16 oz. tricolor  tortellini, 18 oz.  manicotti , 13 oz. pierogie with potato, Swiss and jack cheese and 2 jars (1 qt. each) of Casa Visco spaghetti sauce.
The Meat Box at $32 contains 2 lbs. beef chuck pot roast, 3 lbs. I.Q.F. boneless /skinless chicken breast, a 2 lb. rope of sweet Italian sausage (2/1-lb), 3 lbs. pepper steaks (8/6-oz.) and 2 lbs. bulk breakfast sausage (4/8-oz. rolls).
Cash payment must be made when ordering.  The pick up date is Thursday, February 24, from 3:30 to 6 pm at the Stephentown Federated Church. You may have another person order or pick up your order, but any food not claimed during the pick-up hours will be donated to the food pantry.
