The Hoosick Falls bowling team won a very close away match against Schuylerville by the score of 3-1 on Thursday, January 6. Total pins for Hoosick Falls was 3,430 to 3,328 total pins for Schuylerville. Hoosick Falls now has a record of 30-2 and Schuylerville is 23-9.
Hoosick Falls won the first game by 94 pins after trailing for most of the game; then lost the second game by 23 pins
and came back and won the third game by 31 pins to secure the victory. Top bowler for Schuylerville was Matt Seymour with a 215-612. Top bowlers for Hoosick Falls were Chris Pelletier 248-644, Bryan Callahan 235-600, Mitch Andrew 217-600 and Cody LaFlamme 195-564.
There were only two JV bowlers, and they had some great scores – Josh McCart 254-672 and Josh Conn 224-628.
“This was a big win on the road. The kids were very patient and came up big in the last three frames of each game to secure the victory. Even though the scores weren’t that high, they bowled well and made a lot of important spares. They also had to make some big lane adjustments as the match progressed. I was very proud of their patience and perseverance throughout the entire match,” said Coach Lang.
First Loss
The Hoosick Falls bowling team suffered its first loss of the season to Fort Edward by the score of 4-0 on Tuesday, January 11. Fort Edward bowled their best series in the history of the school with a total of 3,706 pins to Hoosick Falls’ total pins of 3,494. Even though Fort Edward bowled great Hoosick Falls only lost the second game by 5 pins and the third game by 9 pins. Fort Edward now has a record of 31-5 and Hoosick Falls is 30-6. Top bowler for Fort Edward was Demetrick Rawlins with a 237-642. Top bowlers for Hoosick Falls were Josh McCart 258-683, Josh Conn 247-663, Mitch Andrew 237-623, Cody LaFlamme 219-593, Joe Wolfrum 223-562 and Bryan Callahan 189-530.
Top JV scores for Hoosick Falls were Charlie Stowell 213-594, Mikaela Marbot 211-590, Ken Marbot 212-557 and Jordan Colvin 203-539.
“Fort Edward really bowled great. They had 5 out of 6 bowlers bowl over 600 with the sixth bowler having a 599. We struggled in the first game getting used to the lane conditions and made the necessary adjustments in the second and third games but came up a little short in each game. Hopefully the team learned something from this match because we will be bowling the League Tournament up there in a few weeks. Hopefully we can bounce back and have a good match against Corinth on Thursday,” said Coach Lang.
