Lawrence F. Foster Sr.

Petersburgh – Lawrence F. “Larry” Foster Sr., 72, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at his residence on William Jones Road in Petersburgh, NY. He had resided there with his wife Patricia (Bindoni) Foster, whom he married on April 29, 1961.
Born on June 26, 1938, in East Meadow, Long Island, Larry was the son of the late George and Margaret (Lang) Foster. He attended schools in Long Island and served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1967. Larry was employed at Johnson Controls in Bennington, VT, in the shipping and receiving department until retiring in 1994. He then worked for several years at St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls, NY, as the custodian. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and auto racing, and he was a NY Yankees fan. He was a member of the Congregational Church in North Pownal, VT.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, his sons, Rev. Larry F. Foster Jr. of Hoosick Falls and Scott and his wife Bridget Foster of Petersburgh, his grandchildren, Bradley and Ashley Foster of Petersburgh and Ryan and Aaron Foster of Lisbon, CT, his sisters, Louise Peterson and Robert of Fairport, NY, Alice Bergin of Walker Valley, NY, and Charlotte Sperling of Mastic Beach, NY. Larry is pre-deceased by two brothers, George and Joseph “Butch” Foster.
Funeral services are Friday, January 7, at 10 am from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the service at Hoosick Rural Cemetery in Hoosick, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Congregational Church of North Pownal through the funeral home.
