Everett L. Fairclough

Hoosick – Everett L. Fairclough, 75, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2011, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center after a brief illness. He had resided on Albany Street in Hoosick, NY, with his wife of twenty-eight years, Eleanor S. Fairclough.
Born on March 22, 1935, in Brookfield, CT, Everett was the son of the late Lester and Mildred (Plummer) Fairclough. He received his education in Danbury, CT, and was employed by the city of Danbury for thirty years until his retirement. He was an avid stock car driver in the Danbury area and was a member of the Danbury Racing Association. He was a member of the American Legion Post 100 in Bethel, CT. He served for eight years in the United States Air Force with honorable discharge. Everett enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching stock car racing. He was a faithful member of Community Alliance Church in Hoosick Falls, NY.
Survivors, other than his wife Eleanor, include his children, Mitchell and wife Sharon of Douglasville, GA, Michael and wife Diane of New Milford, CT, Robert of New Milford, CT, Todd of Chattanooga, TN, Curt and wife Karen of New Straitsville, OH, and Debra and husband Robert Thompson of Fredericktown, OH. He is also survived by a sister, Allayne Bowers of Sarasota, FL, nineteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Everett is pre-deceased by two sons, Scott Fairclough and Sherman Slaving, and a granddaughter, Karla.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad or the Hoosick Falls Health Center through the funeral home.
