February Events At The New Lebanon Library

All of these events are free and will take place at the New Lebanon Library which is located at 550 State Route 20.
February 8, 15 and 22 (Tuesdays) – Crochet for Beginners – 6:30 pm. Learn the basic stitches while crocheting a scarf. Please call 518-794-8844 to register.
February 9, 16 and 23 (Wednesdays) – Tales for Tots Story Hour – 11 am. Story hour includes crafts, songs and movement activities.
February 10, 17 and 24 (Thursdays) – Hug-A-Bye Babies – noon. Age appropriate stories, songs and movement activities for our youngest patrons and their parents.
February 6 – New Lebanon Book Group – 11 am. The book to be discussed is Parrot and Oliver in America by Peter Carey. Newcomers welcome.
February 4 – Coffeehouse Night – 6 pm.  Features the music of singer/songwriter Linda Worster. Light refreshments will be served.
February 10 – Create an easy web presence for your home business using WordPress® – 6:30 pm. Advance registration required;  call 518-794-8844 to sign up.
February 11 – Family Movie Night – 6:30 pm. Showing of a current film suitable for the whole family. Call 518-794-8844 for title. Snacks provided.
February 16 – Overdrive Workshop – 6:30 pm. Learn to download free audiobooks and ebooks onto your computer, MP3 player or handheld device with your library card.
February 17 – Film: No Impact Man – 7 pm. Follow the Manhattan-based Beavan family as they abandon their high consumption lifestyle and try to live a year while making no net environmental impact. This film is unrated. Discussion to follow.
February 18 – Music: Divinitress – 7 pm. Join local musician Tistrya Grace and friends for an evening of acoustic folk music.
February 19 – Paws-to-Read – 9 am. Therapy dogs come to the Library and children read to their furry friends. And, of course, the dogs listen! Please call 518-794-8844 to register.
February 22 – Bingo for Kids – 1 pm. Bingo, prizes and fun for kids aged 5-12.
February 23 – Spontaneous Creativity: Riffing the Blues – 2 pm. Children and teens will learn how to write a blues song with blues band MondoRAJ. Advance registration preferred. Call 518-794-8844 to sign up.
February 24 – River Otters of Hand Hollow – 2 pm. Join Jenny Brinker from the Columbia Land Conservancy and learn about this otterly wonderful member of the weasel family. Call 518-794-8844 to register.
February 24 – Family Crafts Night – 6 pm. Easy crafts suitable for the whole family.
February 25 – Preschool Pajama Party – 6 pm, featuring a story and short movie for preschoolers; older children are also welcome. Wear your PJs; bring your blankie; snacks provided.
February 26 – Chess Instruction for Kids – 10 am. Instruction for kids, but players of all ages and levels are welcome.
February 28 – Poetry Group – 6 pm. Poets and aspiring poets are invited to come and share their work.
