Panther Bowlers Win League Championship

February 11, 2011 By eastwickpress

The Hoosick Falls bowling team defeated Fort Edward in the Adirondack League Championship match by the total pin score of 3,955 to 3,882. There were outstanding scores bowled by both teams. Hoosick Falls won the first game by 111 pins and the second game by 103 pins with a great single game total of 1,422. Fort Edward won the third game by 141 giving Hoosick Falls the overall win by 73 pins. Both Hoosick Falls and Fort Edward had their best team totals for the year.
Top bowlers for Fort Edward were Demetrick Rawlins 279-752, Brian McCarty 279-683, Tanner Flores 244-671 and Brad Delisle 233-645.
Top bowlers for Hoosick Falls were Chris Pelletier 278-721, Mitch Andrew 268-715, Joe Wolfrum 248-649, Bryan Callahan 220-640, Cody LaFlamme 222-622 and Josh McCart 245-608.
Hoosick Falls also had some good JV scores – James Lynch 233-654, Mikaela Marbot 203, 231 and Jordan Colvin 215.
“This was an outstanding match to coach and watch as there were great scores bowled by both teams. Once again, our depth is what won the match with all six Varsity bowlers having a great day! Fort Edward is still a young team, and they will be in the championship match again next year. I am very proud how the team performed today, and I hope we can do the same next Tuesday at Sectionals,” Coach Lang said.
HF Wins Tournament
Last Thursday, the Hoosick Falls bowling team won the Adirondack League Bowling Tournament with a total pin count of 3,113 pins followed closely by Fort Edward with 3,101 and Hoosic Valley with a 2,704. Hoosick Falls had the following great scores by their bowlers – Mitch Andrew 244-673, Cody LaFlamme 224-632, Joe Wolfrum 223-609, Bryan Callahan 219-572 and good individual games by Josh McCart 232 and Chris Pelletier 223. Mitch Andrew had the high series of 673 for the Southern Division in the tournament.
After trailing by 43 pins after the first game, Hoosick Falls had a 1,082 total for the second game and went ahead by 67 pins over Fort Edward. Fort Edward beat Hoosick Falls in the last game by 55 pins which wasn’t enough to overcome the 67 pin lead that Hoosick Falls had built up after the second game.
“This was a great victory for the team after we lost to Fort Edward just three weeks ago on their lanes when they bowled their highest series ever. Now we will face them again in the League Roll-off next Tuesday for the overall Adirondack League Championship at the Strike Zone Lanes in Saratoga starting at 4 pm. It should be a great match-up between the two best teams in the league,” said Coach Lang.
