According to Pat Bakaitis, the collapse of the roof over his heavy equipment stored on Baby Lane in Hoosick was a loud roar that lasted several seconds Saturday afternoon, February 5. The full extent of the damage to Bakaitis’ equipment won’t be known until the roof is removed. Visible damage Saturday included a smashed exhaust system and windshield on a bucket loader and similar damage to at least one of the dump trucks. Besides two dump trucks, a tractor trailer and the bucket loader, buried under the roof and snow are concrete forms and related equipment, power tools, hand tools, a sewer pump and other stored materials.
