Thomas E. Mordsfeld

Pittstown – Thomas E. Mordsfeld, 73, passed away on January 20, 2011, at the Cape Fear Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC. He had resided on Maple Lane in Pittstown, NY, and was the husband of the late Gail (Arnold) Mordsfeld, who died in 2000.
Born on June 14, 1937, in Berlin, NY, Thomas was the son of the late Wesley and Sylvia (Strait) Mordsfeld. He graduated from Berlin High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1959 to 1963. Thomas was formerly employed at Riverview in Hoosick Falls, NY. He enjoyed trips to Foxwoods Casino, crossword puzzles, bingo and watching Jeopardy and the Wheel of Fortune shows. He was a member of the Senior Citizens in Hoosick Falls.
Survivors include his daughters, Rene Mordsfeld of Quincy, MA, and Ann Provencher of Fayetteville, NC, his step-children, Carl Christensen of Petersburgh, NY, Charles Christensen of Auburn, NH, and Patricia Butler of Savannah, GA, and a brother, Ronald Castagnier of Poestenkill, NY. Thomas is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, January 29, at 3 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Burial will be later in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hoosick Falls Senior Citizens through the funeral home.
