Teresa has been growing her hair out for two years to be able to donate it to Locks of Love. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
In January of 2011 Teresa found out she has breast cancer and not even a month later they removed all of the cancer. On Thursday, March 10 – the day before Teresa started chemo treatments – Teresa shaved her hair off in order to finish her goal

of donating her hair to Locks of Love. She ended up donating 12 inches of hair.
She is a wife and mother of two young girls. I have known Teresa for over seven years. I thought for sure we’d both be crying while I shaved off her hair, but, with her strength and positive outlook on life, we were able to laugh a little.
“My hope is that I can put another face on cancer. I plan to use this journey as an opportunity to learn, share and take what I learn to make the world a better place,” said Teresa Swider.
Donations In Teresa’s Name
Pink hair extensions are available for a donation of ANY amount to support the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. All donations will be made in Teresa’s name to support her in her fight against cancer. When I told Teresa that I wanted to do this in her name and asked her what organization she would want me to donate to Teresa replied, “Something for the kids; it’s all for the kids.” If you would like to donate, please call, text or email me to set up your appointment at hairorthere@verizon.net, 279-0565 or 366-4541 (text).
I also offer free haircuts to anyone donating 10 inches or more of hair to Locks of Love.
