Pittsfield – Alinda Kaye Shank, 52, of 113 Plunkett Street, Pittsfield, MA, died at home on Sunday, March 6, 2011, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Albany, NY, on February 5, 1959, she was the daughter of Donald I. French II and Mary J. French. She was a graduate of Berlin (NY) High School and attended Berkshire Community College.
Alinda was employed by the Berkshire Eagle for 32 years and was human resource manager there for the last several years. She was also involved with the Eagle Santa Toy Fund, the Berkshire United Way and the Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade Committee.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffery L. Shank, whom she married September 29, 1985, in Stephentown, NY. Besides her husband and parents, Alinda leaves a son, Brendan M. Shank, and a daughter, Tabitha L. Shank, both of Pittsfield, three brothers, Donald French III of Cherry Plain, NY, Warren French of Stephentown and Gary French of Berlin, NY.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, March 19, at 11 am at the Stephentown Federated Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church.
