Arnold L. Goodermote

Berlin – Arnold Lee Goodermote, known to everyone as Arnie, of 7406 Crossbow Lane, Corryton, TN, died Thursday, March 3, 2011, after a long illness.
Born in Berlin, NY, on January 9, 1931, he was the son of the late Arthur and Josephine Goodermote and husband to Donna Amidon Goodermote. Arnie is pre-deceased by his twin brother, Arthur, and brother, Donald Goodermote.
Arnie was a graduate of Berlin Central School. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He worked for Norton Abrasives in Watervliet, NY, for 33 years.  He was a member of the Taconic Valley American Legion Post #937 for 43 years. In the 1950s Arnie played ball with the Haymakers in Troy, NY.  He loved his baseball, basketball, tennis and hunting.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Donna, are his step-children, Victor N. Lecce of Pottersville, NY, Patrick M. and Sharon Lecce of Grafton, NY, Christopher A. and Marta Lecce of Rensselaer, NY, Kevin C. Lecce of Petersburgh, NY, Nicola and David Ritz of Corryton, his son, Gregory Goodermote of St. Louis, MO, his sister, Mary Ann and husband Robert Jansen of Berlin, eight grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces
Cremation will take place at East Tennessee Cremation in Maryville, TN.
A memorial service will be held at the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road,  Petersburgh, on Thursday, March 10, at 3:30 pm with visitation from 4 to 7 pm. Friends and relatives are invited.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berlin Rescue Squad.
