Eleanor G. Burdick

Hoosick Falls – Eleanor Gladys Cary Burdick, 79, of Second Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at the Center for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Troy, NY, on March 31, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Eleanor Rogers Cary. She was the loving wife of the late Eugene Burdick, who died on April 9, 2009. They were married on March 3, 1956. She had been a resident of Hoosick Falls for the last five years after losing her Johnsonville, NY, home due to a fire.
Eleanor attended schools in Wynantskill, NY. She worked for Dandy Laundry and Cleaners for 27 years retiring in 1994. She also worked in a domestic capacity for local families.
Survivors include her children, Eugene J. and wife Jayne Burdick of Chula Vista, CA, James M. and wife Marie Burdick and Harold H. and wife Diana Burdick, all of Hoosick Falls, John A. and Amy Murphy Burdick of Troy, and Helen J. and husband Kenneth Blanchard of Hubert, NC, a sister, Beverly and husband Edward Flood of Hoosick Falls, ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her brothers, Joseph and Daniel Cary.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 22, at noon in the Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet, followed by burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Troy. Calling hours started in the funeral home at 10 am on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad or the Center for Living and Rehabilitation. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Robson-Reinfurt Funeral Home of Hoosick Falls.
