Estella Schonhaut

Berlin – Mrs. Stella Schonhaut, 71, of Jade Drive, Lititz, PA, and formerly of  Patterson, NJ, died on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Heart of Lancaster Hospital in Lititz, PA.  Born in Troy, NY, on November 9, 1939, she was the daughter of Delmar Amidon and Mildred Lackey Amidon Michaels.  She graduated as salutatorian from Berlin Central School, NY, in 1957.  Stella also graduated from Paterson State Teachers College, Patterson, NJ, and attended the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. Stella was known for her love of cats.
Survivors include her husband, Irving R. Schonhaut, whom she married on April 16, 1966, two sisters, Helen Noyes of Tomhannock, NY, and Jo Ann and husband John Kellar of Berlin, NY, and a brother, Clarence and wife Jean Michaels of Grafton, NY, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by special friends, Barbara and Paul Ward of Totowa, NJ. She is pre-deceased by two sisters, Vivian Millard and Virginia Amidon.
The funeral for Stella Schonhaut was held on Monday, March 21, at noon from the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home in Petersburgh, NY, followed by burial in the Berlin Community Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity in care of the funeral home.
