Naturalist Presents Children’s Program
Naturalist John Deignan will present “Skins and Tracks of Local Animals” on Tuesday, March 8, at 2 pm at the New Lebanon Library. The program is oriented to school age children.
Participants will view the skins of several local mammal species and learn about their habitat and survival strategies. Kids will also make their own plaster-cast animal tracks and will listen to animal stories while the molds dry. To register, please contact the New Lebanon Library at 518-794-8844..
Re-Enactor Presents Program On 18th Century Medicine
Re-enactor Stuart Lehman will appear as a Colonial Physician in a program on the theories and practices of 18th century medicine on Thursday, March 10, at 7:30 pm at the New Lebanon Library.
From herbs and medicines to bloodletting leeches and surgical tools, patrons will be invited to learn the techniques used for healing during the 18th Century. This program is free and open to the public.
Lawson Performs Traditional Music Of Ireland
Irish music duo Lawson will perform at the New Lebanon Library on Friday, March 11, at 7 pm. The husband-wife duo of Eric Everson and Hilary Schrauf will present a delightful program of traditional Irish music as well as Irish stories and dance. This program is suitable for the whole family. All are welcome and the event is free.
Community Drum Circle
Musician and educator Allen Livermore leads a Community Drum Circle on Tuesday, March 15, at 6 pm at the New Lebanon Library. The free program, which offers participants the opportunity to play as part of drum circle, improvise and have fun, is open to all ages and all levels of prior experience. Participants can bring their own drums, shakers, cowbells and other percussion instruments or borrow ours.
Livermore is a certified music teacher who has taught preschool through college. As a saxophonist and drummer, he has performed at clubs, restaurants, resorts, colleges and arts spaces throughout New England and New York.
