Transcribed from the minutes of meetings of the first three years of the Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department are the minutes of the SVFD for meeting #13.
Stephentown, August 13, 1940
The 13th regular meeting held at Town hall on above date.  Chief Feathers made his report in regards to Labor date (sic) program which is progressing favorably.  Committee appointed, Douglas Feathers – Francis Overlock, Refreshments; Ulisses Sweener – Al Silvernail, floats; Gus Johnson – L. Hewitt, ball game; Bert Bullion, music; Frederick Brown, advertising; dance – Douglas Feathers.
Special meeting will be at firehouse Thursday, 29th.
John Atwater withdraws account of being unable to act at any time. When he is able to attend meetings and fires, he will be placed on active list at first vacancy.  Harvey Pease was placed on active list as a fireman.  L. Hewitt (sic) Secretary.
