GuoJiyan and QuoQing, two Chinese high school students, spent nearly a week in Stephentown with the Cass family as part of their tour of American cities and educational institutions. They were members of a group of 32 students who attended Tech Valley High School this past week to learn about collaborative education, practice English as Tech Valley High students tried out their Chinese and experience American life with host families across the Capital District.
While in our area, the students visited the State Legislature, met with the New York State Commissioner of Education, visited other high schools, celebrated the Chinese New Year and had fun going bowling and shopping. Educators traveling with the group from Tianjin 41 High School, located in the fifth largest city in China, signed a formal exchange agreement with Tech Valley High that provides for more learning exchanges between the two schools. Eleven students from Berlin Central School District attend Tech Valley High School in grades 9 through 12.
