All of these events are free and will take place at the Library which is located at 550 State Route 20.
• April 1 – Coffeehouse Night – 6 pm. Features the music of singer/songwriter Linda Worster. Light refreshments will be served.
• April 2 – Paws-to-Read – 9 am. Therapy dogs come to the library and children read to their furry friends. And, of course, the dogs listen! Please call 518-794-8844 to register.
• April 5, 12, 19, 26 – Crochet for Beginners – 6:30 pm. Learn the basic stitches while crocheting a project.
• April 6, 13, 20, 27 (event is on Wednesdays) – Tales for Tots Story Hour – 11 am. Story hour includes crafts, songs and movement activities.
• April 7, 14, 21, 28 (event is on Thursdays) – Hug-A-Bye Babies – noon. Age appropriate stories, songs, and movement activities for our youngest patrons and their parents.
• April 8 – Family Movie Night – 6:30 pm. Showing of a current film suitable for the whole family. Call 518-794-8844 for title. Snacks provided.
• April 10 – New Lebanon Book Group – 11 am. The book to be discussed is At Home by Bill Bryson. Newcomers welcome
• April 14 – Author I. Alex Olchowski – 7 pm, reading from his book The Commodity of Love. Q&A and signing to follow.
April 15 – Music: Divinitress – 7 pm. Join local musician Tistrya Grace and friends for an evening of acoustic folk music.
• April 16 – Community Drum Circle with Allen Livermore – 6 pm. Bring your own drums, shakers, cowbells and other percussion instruments or use ours.
• April 16 – Chess Instruction for kids – 6:30 pm. Players of all ages and levels are welcome as well.
• April 18 – Bingo for kids – 1 pm, Bingo, prizes and fun for kids age 5 to 12.
• April 20 – Rhonda’s Reptiles – 2 pm. Meet, touch and learn about snakes, tortoises, dragons, iguanas and even a baby alligator.
• April 21 – Eat Your Lawn: Edible Wild Plants – 7 pm. Participants will learn which common backyard plants can and can’t be eaten as well as how to identify and prepare them. Presented by the Flying Deer Nature Center.
• April 22 – Columbia Land Conservancy presents Earth Day Celebration – 2 pm. Help the Library clean up winter debris from the yard and flower beds then plant some cold hardy annual flowers to brighten the front of the building. Please bring your own work gloves if you have them.
• April 22 – Preschool Pajama Party – 6 pm., featuring a story and short movie for preschoolers; older children also welcome. Wear your PJs, bring your blankie, snacks provided.
• April 28 – Family Crafts Night – 6 pm. Make a toad house. All materials will be provided, suitable for the whole family.
