Letter To The Editor – Vote In November

April 1, 2011 By eastwickpress

Letter to Editor:
Wanted new Berlin Town Board members that will make realistic decisions to help the Town grow; bringing in new businesses and satisfying the needs of the highway department, senior citizens and the general public.
Some of the present Town Board members seem to have their own agenda, which in my opinion is stifling the future growth of our town. The decisions that they are making will cost the Town taxpayers more money in the future than investing now in our present needs. The purchase of the Berlin Lumber Mill is a no-brainer as is the purchase of the truck for the highway department.
When one considers the projected price of a new town garage, the refurbishing of the Watipi building, paying rent to house highway department trucks in the winter, the rental of space to the County at Berlin Lumber Mill, the positive report of the independent engineer (that the Town Board hired) how can we not complete the purchase of the Berlin Lumber Mill. The money for the project is available.
Come to Town Board meetings; ask questions; see for yourself what the actual facts are, and this fall elect Town Board members that will represent the Town’s people and their wishes. We need Town Board members that are more progressive in their thinking, working toward making Berlin a town to be truly proud of.
