May Events At The New Lebanon Library

All of these events are free and will take place at the Library which is located at 550 State Route 20.
• May 1 – New Lebanon Book Group – 11 am. The book to be discussed is Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls. Newcomers welcome.
• May 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 (event is on Tuesdays) – Crochet & Knitting Group at 6:30 pm – crochet instruction for beginners and good company for the advanced.
• May 4, 11, 18 and 25 (event is on Wednesdays) – Tales for Tots Story Hour at 11 am. Story hour includes crafts, songs and movement activities.
• May 5, 12, 19 and 26 (event is on Thursdays) – Hug-A-Bye Babies at noon – age appropriate stories, songs and movement activities for our youngest patrons and their caregivers.
• May 5 – Community Film Night at 7 pm – showing of a current documentary with discussion to follow. Call 518-794-8844 for title. Snacks provided.
• May 6 – Coffeehouse Night at 6 pm  features the music of singer/songwriter Linda Worster. Light refreshments will be served.
• May 7 – Paws-to-Read at 9 am. Therapy dogs come to the Library, and children read to their furry friends. And, of course, the dogs listen! Please call 518-794-8844 to register.
• May 12 – 18th Century Medicine presented by re-enactor Stuart Lehman at 7:30 pm. From herbs and medicines to bloodletting leeches and surgical tools, patrons will be invited to learn the techniques used for healing during the 18th Century.
• May 13 – Family Crafts Night at 6 pm. Make a popsicle stick house. All materials provided; suitable for the whole family.
• May 16 – Poetry Group at 6 pm. Poets and aspiring poets are invited to share their work. Newcomers are welcome.
• May 19 – Travelogue – a multimedia presentation about local resident Doreen Forney’s trip to Baffin Island and Greenland.
• May 20 – Preschool Pajama Party at 6 pm featuring a story and short movie for preschoolers; older children also welcome. Wear your PJs, bring your blankie; snacks provided.
• May 21 – Chess Instruction for Kids at 6:30 pm. Players of all ages and levels are welcome.
• May 26 – Music: The Rev Tor Solo Show at 7 pm. Acoustic folk and rock is performed by Berkshire musician Tor Krautter.
• May 27 – Family Movie Night at 6:30 pm. A current film suitable for the whole family will be shown. Call for title. Snacks will be provided.
