Bennington – Rose Willard, 86, died March 16, 2011, after a brief illness. Born in Troy, NY, on April 15, 1924, she was the daughter of Anthony and Lena Carelli and grew up in Hoosick Falls, NY. She married Bob Willard on October 14, 1948.
Mrs. Willard was the bookkeeper for two family businesses, Bennington Lanes and Bennington Drive-in Theater. In retirement she became a master gardener and started a perennial flower business.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Bob Willard, three sons, Stephen, Rob and Mark, a sister, Mary Alonzo, two brothers, Dominic and Frank Carelli, six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by a sister, Jane Fay.
Friends called from 6 to 8 pm on Saturday, March 19, at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
