Upcoming Grafton Lakes State Park Events

April 30, Saturday – Trail Work Day at Grafton Lakes State Park from 9 am to 12 pm. We have a lot of mess from the big ice storm earlier this year. Come help us out clearing debris from trails and enjoy a beautiful day in the outdoors. Refreshments are available in the morning for all volunteers.  Please call the Park to register at 279-1155.
May 5, Thursday – Friends of Grafton Lakes State Park Spring Meeting at 7 pm in the Park Office. Join this diverse group of outdoor enthusiasts in improving Grafton Lakes State Park. Bring your ideas.
May 6, Friday – Star Watch at 8 pm.  Enjoy a tour of the night sky with Albany Area Astronomers Association. Enter the Park via the winter entrance and follow signs to the group. Weather may cancel; call Bernard at 658-9144 to confirm. The rain date is May 7.
May 7, Saturday – Nest Watch Training at 1 pm. Find bird nests in your yard or neighborhood. Scientists need your help. Please pre-register for this free training by calling 279-1155.
May 21, Saturday – Cemetery Restoration Seminar at Grafton Lakes State Park from 9 am to 3 pm. Learn how to preserve your family cemetery in this free seminar. The seminar will be held in an old family cemetery in the Park and will teach resetting stones, cleaning and adhesive repair.  Lunch is provided. To register, please contact Dorothy Surprise at 641-9660.
May 22, Sunday – Great Strides for Cystic Fibrosis. Registration for this 1 k fund-raising walk begins at 11 am.  For more information about the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the event, please call CFF at 783-7361.
