Eva May Brophy

Hoosick Falls – Eva May Jenks Brophy, 93, formerly of Oak Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, died on Saturday, March 21, 2011, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center under the care of Community Hospice of Rensselaer County.
Born June 2, 1917, in New Lebanon, NY, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Catherine Mickle Jenks. She was the widow of Francis Brophy. A graduate of New Lebanon High School, Eva worked for General Electric in Pittsfield, MA, was a secretary for Dr. Wildman and Stanley Tools in Shaftsbury, VT. She was a deacon at the First United Church in Hoosick Falls. She is pre-deceased by a daughter, Catherine Brophy Kyer, and siblings, Ruth, Samuel and Alice Jenks.
Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Sulham of Hoosick Falls, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, May 26, at 11 am in the First United Church, Presbyterian, 130 Main Street, Hoosick Falls. Private burial will be in the Cemetery of the Evergreens in Lebanon Springs, NY.
Arrangements are under the guidance of Robson-Reinfurt Funeral Home of Hoosick Falls.
