Local resident Doreen Forney will present a multimedia travelogue about her trip through Canada’s Baffin Island and Greenland on Thursday, May 19, at 7 pm at the New Lebanon Library. The presentation will be followed by discussion and Q & A.
orney has been traveling to northern Canada for a number of years. This was her first trip to Nunavut, Canada’s newest territory governed by the Inuit. The ship called in at four communities on Baffin Island, visited the northernmost community in Nunavik, Quebec, and crossed the Davis Strait and the Arctic Circle to arrive at Greenland. The focus of the trip was the land, wildlife and Inuit Art.
