The Albany Area Amateur Astronomers will hold a Starwatch at Grafton Lakes State Park on Friday, May 6, at 8:30 pm. Visitors should use the winter entrance to the Park on Long Pond Road (at the store). Come see the rings of Saturn and some of the galaxies in the Virgo Galaxy Cluster as well as craters and mountains on the crescent moon. Also, the Eta Aquarid Meteor Shower, caused by debris from Halley’s Comet will be at its peak early Friday morning, but some of the meteors should still be visible Friday night. If the weather is bad, the meeting will be cancelled and automatically rescheduled for the next night, Saturday, May 7. To discover whether the Starwatch has been cancelled, call Bernard Cognon, 658-9144 or Ray Bogucki, 658-3138.
