Harry B. Gompert Jr.

Buskirk – Harry B. Gompert Jr., 90, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2011, at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. He was the husband of Charlotte Gompert, who died on December 19, 2008.
Harry was born on January 23, 1921, in West Haven, CT. He was educated at schools in Stamford, CT. He worked as a steam-fitter in Stamford and later at Williams College in Williamstown, MA, retiring in 1987. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in both WW II and Korea. Harry was a member of the American Legion Post #40 and the former V.F.W. Post #8417, where he served as Commander in 1997. He enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his son, Daniel Gompert of Johnsonville, NY, his daughter, Judith Cutler of Monroe, CT, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY.
