HFCS Top Ten Seniors

Hoosick Falls Junior/Senior High School is proud to announce the Top Ten Seniors of the Class of 2011.

The Valedictorian is Samantha Skott, daughter of Donald and Betsy Skott of Buskirk. In her years at Hoosick Falls H.S., Samantha was a member of the National Honor Society, served as the Secretary of her class, participated in Varsity Softball, Varsity Basketball, Varsity Field Hockey, Friends of Rachel and received her Gold Award as a Girl Scout. She played the clarinet in the Symphonic Band and was a founding member of the Hoosick Falls Pep Band. Samantha has received the RPI Medal and the University of Rochester Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award. In the fall, Samantha will continue her field hockey career and attend Skidmore College.
The Salutatorian is James Lynch, son of James and Julie Lynch of Hoosick Falls.  In his years at Hoosick Falls H.S., James has been involved in the National Honor Society, Varsity Baseball, Varsity Bowling, Varsity Golf, Dodge Ball, tutoring and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish Youth Group, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and a Confirmation and Baptismal Sponsor. In the fall James will attend either Williams College or Siena College and major in Chemistry and minor in Education.
David Ciuk, son of Anthony and Kim Ciuk of Eagle Bridge, ranks third in the senior class.  David has been a member of the National Honor Society, the Key Club, Varsity Baseball, Varsity Basketball and Dodge Ball. He was a member of the Pioneer Fish and Game Club and worked as a Little League umpire.  In the fall David will attend Syracuse University and will major in Management.
Jason Fleming, son of David and Sharon Fleming of Hoosick Falls, ranks fourth in the class. Jason will attend Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and will major in Biology.
Ashley Costantino, daughter of Charles and Wendy Costantino of Hoosick Falls, ranks fifth in the senior class. In her years at Hoosick Falls H.S., Ashley has been involved in the National Honor Society and Varsity Field Hockey. She volunteers her free time at a local nursing home and spends her leisure time writing and scrap-booking. Ashley will attend SUNY Oswego in the fall and major in Linguistics or Business.
Amanda Vitro, daughter of Robert and Bonnie Vitro of Hoosick Falls, ranks sixth in the class. In her years at Hoosick Falls H.S., Amanda was a member of the National Honor Society, Varsity Field Hockey, Drama Club, tutoring, Friends of Rachel and worked as an ice skating teacher. Amanda will attend Utica College in the fall and major in Physical Therapy.
Christopher Marshall, son of Dan and Heather Marshall of Hoosick Falls, ranks seventh in the senior class. In his years at Hoosick Falls H.S., Christopher has been a member of the National Honor Society, Varsity Football and Varsity Lacrosse. Christopher will attend SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry and will major in Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries.
John Otruba, son of Emery and Alice Otruba of Hoosick Falls, ranks eighth in the class. John has been a member of the National Honor Society, Masterminds, the school newspaper, Boy Scouts and Jazz Band. John will be attending SUNY Geneseo in the fall and will major in Pre-Law.
Taliesin Beriau, son of David and Helene Beriau of Hoosick Falls, ranks ninth in the class. Taliesin has been involved in the National Honor Society, Varsity Baseball, the school newspaper, Key Club, Dodge Ball and served as the Treasurer of his class. Taliesin will attend Bentley University and will major in Business Administration.
John Lancour, son of Gary and Barbara Lancour of Hoosick Falls, NY, ranks tenth in the senior class. In his years at Hoosick Falls H.S., John has been a member of the National Honor Society, Varsity Baseball, Key Club, Dodge Ball, worked as a dietary aide at the Hoosick Falls Health Center and coached youth basketball. John will major in Elementary Education at SUNY Oswego.
