June C. Pine

May 6, 2011 By eastwickpress

West Hoosick – June C. Pine, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2011, at her residence in West Hoosick, NY. She was the wife of the late Hugh Pine.
Born in Troy, NY, on July 28, 1938, June was the daughter of the late Roy Johnson and Bertha Gannon. She graduated from Walter A. Wood High School in Hoosick Falls, NY, class of 1956. She graduated from Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing, Troy, in 1959 as a Registered Nurse. She was employed at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, NY, until 1977. June then continued her career as an OB Nurse at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT, until her retirement.
June thoroughly enjoyed her many years as a Maternity Nurse and smiled when those children grew up and later returned to her “Country Club,” as she so fondly called it, in West Hoosick, to swim, play and camp out with her grandchildren. Her home was always open to all the kids. June’s sideline appearances will be greatly missed at her grandchildren’s many events.
June is survived by her three sons, Raymond and his wife Margaret Pine, Richard Pine and Robert and his wife Christine Pine, all of Hoosick Falls, and her daughter, Terri Pine of Burlington, VT. June will be greatly missed by her nine grandchildren, all of whom she truly loved, Brittany, Carly, William, Rachel, Kelly, Jacob, Griffin, Hayden and Amber Pine, and her two step-grandchildren, Nicole and Erin Ryan. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly and husband Ted Brogue of Petersburgh, NY, her half-brother, Leroy and wife Dawn Johnson of Florida, her half-sister, Colleen and husband Albert Smith of Virginia, her step-sister, Bonnie and husband Charles Wick of Connecticut, her step-brother, Donald Burgess of New Mexico, her step-father, Frank Vosh of Hoosick Falls, and many nieces and nephews. June is pre-deceased by a grandson, Lucas Pine.
The family wishes to thank the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County for its wonderful assistance. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad in June’s memory.
