Lorraine B. Greeley

Grafton – Lorraine B. Fernet Greeley, 69, of Crandall Road, Grafton, NY, died suddenly after a brief illness on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT, surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 12, 1941, in Cohoes, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ida Michaud Fernet. She was the loving wife of the late Theodore J. Greeley, who died on May 19, 1991. They were married in Clifton Park, NY, on July 2, 1961. She has been a resident of Grafton since June of 1996 after moving from Buskirk, NY.
Lorraine attended Keveny Memorial Academy in Cohoes and was a communicant of Our Lady of The Snow Roman Catholic Church in Grafton. In 1979, after raising her children, Lorraine started working at the Brunswick Center Services division of ARC of Rensselaer County as an administrative assistant. She continued to work there for 32 years and was employed at the time of her death. She was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Jeff Gordon. Lorraine also enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and summer camping at Cossayuna Lake.
Survivors include her children, James E. and wife Wanda Greeley, Paul A. Greeley, John E. Greeley and William J. Greeley, all of Grafton, Diane J. and husband Michael Mullins of Eagle Bridge, NY, and Tammy L. Haskins of Homer, NY, a sister, Lucille Millet of Hendersonville, NC, grandchildren, Richard Mullins, Erin E. Greeley, Courtney Haskins, Connor Mullins and Charles Griffis, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by two infant children and siblings, Donald Fernet, Theresa Quintal and Jean Fish.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 14, starting at 9:30 am in the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, NY, then at 10:30 am at Our Lady of The Snow Roman Catholic Church, 31 Owens Road, Grafton, where Rev. Kenneth Gregory will celebrate a Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial. Interment will follow in the Nortonville Cemetery in Pittstown, NY.
Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home for visitation on Friday from 4 to 7 pm. For those wishing to remember Lorraine in a special way, memorial contributions may be made to either ARC of Rensselaer County or the memorial fund at Our Lady of The Snow in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 361, Petersburgh, NY, 12138.
