Pastoral Changes At First Baptist Church

On Sunday, May 8, Rev. Dr. Thomas Azar delivered his last message as the interim pastor at the First Baptist Church of Hoosick Falls.  Feeling the need to be more involved with his mother’s health care and other family obligations he decided it was time to leave Hoosick Falls. The First Baptist Church is pleased to announce that the Rev. Paul Smith and his wife Trish have arrived to take over the ministerial leadership with his first Sunday having been May 15.
Rev. Smith has served churches in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York and Pennsylvania.  He has more recently been involved in the Interim Ministries Program with American Baptist Churches. Rev. Smith received his Bachelor of Science degree from Nyack College and Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.  Rev. Smith expresses, “I see my calling, first, to be Christ’s person and, then, to be a witness to point others to Him.”
First Baptist is located at 80 Main Street in Hoosick Falls where the Sunday Worship Service is at 10:15 am and Sunday School for all ages begins at 9 am.
