Robert Harrington, Jr.

Hoosick Falls – Robert Charles Harrington, Jr., 69, passed away on April 22, 2011, in Fort Myers, FL. He was born April 10, 1942, in Hoosick Falls, NY, to the late Robert (Sr.) and Delores (Nimons) Harrington.  He was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy High School in Hoosick Falls and was a veteran of the US Army.  Robert worked for Dodge Fiber in Hoosick Falls and also for the Childs Hospital and the Nelson House in Albany, NY.
He moved to Florida in 1989 and worked for Lee County School as a cafeteria manager before retiring in July of 2010.  He enjoyed his home and his best friends, Tail and D.C. (which were his cats).
Survivors include his sisters, Sandy McCart and Sue Hickey, both of Hoosick Falls, his brothers, William Harrington of Buford, GA, and Peter of  Johnsonville, NY, his special friend of 45 years, Don Marshall of Fort Myers, the love of his life, Nana Nimons, his sisters-in-law,  Snookie Harrington and Kathy Harrington, his brother-in-law, John Hickey, and many nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and John Harrington, and a sister-in-law, Jo Ann Harrington.
There was visitation on Wednesday, April 27, from 4 to 6 pm at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.  The Funeral Mass was Thursday at 10 am at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Fort Myers.  Interment with military honors followed at the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
