On Wednesday, May 11, members of the Hoosick Falls Fire Department and Wells Communications dismantled the communications tower on the Hoosick Falls Municipal Building. Rescue Squad President Bill Gaillard said the antenna was paid for by the Squad and installed 25 years ago. With the Village dispatch gone, there is no need for the tower. Most of it will be scrapped, but Gaillard hopes to relocate one of the radio portions to the North Hoosick Fire Department as backup.
