Elsie Stevens

North Hoosick – Elsie Stevens, 71, passed away on May 19, 2011, at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA. She had formerly resided in North Hoosick, NY.  She is pre-deceased by her loving husband of forty-five years Seymour Stevens Sr., who died in 2006.
Born on February 16, 1940, Elsie was the daughter of the late Marinus and Mildred Hansen. She was a homemaker all of her life. Elsie enjoyed time with family and friends. She also liked to do arts and crafts and to go to tag sales with her very good friend Dottie Smith.
Survivors include her son, Alan Stevens and his companion Katherine French of Altmar, NY, her brothers, Francis Hansen of Shushan, NY, and Frank Hansen of Cambridge, NY, a very loved sister-in-law, Martha Shoff of North Hoosick, her two brothers-in-law, Gene Stevens of Pownal, VT, and John Stevens of Walloomsac, NY, and several nieces and nephews. Elsie is pre-deceased by a sister, Laurena Young, and two brothers, Marinus “Shorty” and Robert Hansen.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 4, at 2 pm from the Hoosick Baptist Church on South Street in Hoosick, NY. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Kidney Foundation or the Diabetes Association through the funeral home.
