AnnaMae A. Bedford

Petersburgh – AnnaMae A. Robinson Bedford, 88, of Route 22, Petersburgh, NY, died on Friday, July 8, 2011, at her home under the care of Community Hospice of Rensselaer County surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness.
Born in Long Island City, NY, on July 23, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Andre Robinson. She was the loving and devoted wife of Alfred H. Bedford, whom she married in Staten Island, NY, on December 27, 1941. Educated in New York schools, the Bedford’s have resided in the Berlin/Petersburgh area for over 40 years after moving from Staten Island. AnnaMae was a homemaker, deeply devoted to her family. Her interests included bowling, puzzles, caring for and spoiling her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Alfred, thirteen children, Alfred and wife Dottie, Diana and husband Larry Richards, Richard and wife Alma, John and Kathy Stewart, Ted and wife Shelly, Charles and wife Sue, Denise and husband Rusty Anderson, George and wife Leah, Edward, Steven, Elizabeth – married to the late Steve Lawton, William and Chris Beaudoin and Kathryn and husband Don Goodermote, a daughter-in-law, Claudia Bedford, 37 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. She is pre-deceased by her parents, two children, Lillian and Robert, four grandchildren, Stacey Anderson, John, Jolene and Richard Bedford, and four brothers, Wesley, Clarence, Charles and Robert Robinson.
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, July 11, at 1 o’clock in the Grafton Baptist Church, Owens Road, where Rev. Jason White, pastor, officiated. Interment followed in the Eagle Mills Cemetery. Relatives and friends were invited to visitation at the Church on Monday starting at 11 am.
To remember AnnaMae in a special way, memorial contributions may be given to either the Petersburgh Rescue Squad or to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County in care of the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, P.O. Box 361, Petersburgh, NY, 12138.
