Carl F. Cunningham

Hoosick Falls – Carl F. Cunningham, 90, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center. He had resided on Wood Court in Hoosick Falls, NY, with his wife of fifty-seven years, Norma (Tilley) Cunningham.
Born on February 13, 1921, in Hoosick Falls, Carl was the son of the late Richard and Jennie (Boose) Cunningham. He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls and attended Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY. Carl was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1942 to 1946.
Carl and his brother Donald owned and operated the Hoosick Falls Lumber Yard for several years. Carl also owned and operated Carl’s Oil in Hoosick Falls for many years. He also sold insurance for the Metropolitan Insurance Company and worked at the Undergarment in Hoosick Falls. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls.
Survivors include his wife Norma of Hoosick Falls, four nephews and two cousins. He is pre-deceased by his brother, Donald.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at 10 am on Wednesday, July 13, from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial was Wednesday at 12 pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
Relatives and friends called at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, on Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the funeral home.
