Doug Sauer from Grafton has been appointed by Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman to his Leadership Committee for Nonprofit Revitalization. The 29 member Committee is charged with presenting a series of recommendations to the Attorney General aimed at reducing regulatory burdens and costs on nonprofits while strengthening their accountability.
“Nonprofits employ 18% of our state’s workforce and are vital to the economic, social, health, educational and cultural fabric of our communities across the state,” said Sauer. “Nonprofits are more heavily regulated than private businesses and in ways that are often unnecessary, duplicative and costly to donors and government,” he added.
Sauer is the Chief Executive Officer of the New York Council of Nonprofits, Inc. and is Treasurer and Immediate Past Chair of the National Council of Nonprofits. He is a former member of the Berlin School Board and the Grafton Library. He has been a resident of Grafton since 1982.
